Mozart died at 35 — almost the same age as Marie-Antoinette — while Hyacinthe Jadin, a brilliant pianist and composer from Versailles, passed away at just 24, struck down by tuberculosis. He left behind sonatas and three concertos that reveal a moving pre-Romantic voice, a talent scarcely blossomed yet already powerful.
