This film is based on a true story and inspired by the diaries of Long Beach teenagers after the LA riots. A teacher is challenged by a group of racially disparate students who hate her even more than they hate each other. When Erin shows them respect – something they never had from a teacher, these teens experience a hope that their lives matter and that they have a voice that should be heard.
