In the year 507 AD, Danish king Hrothgar celebrates his rule in his mead hall, disturbing the peace of half-human, half-demon Grendel. The monster attacks Hrothgar and his men, who then summons Beowulf to help him get rid of the monster. Despite his success, Beowulf never finds peace. What he finds instead is a curse that haunts him the same way it haunts Hrothgar.
