Sang-gon, despite his father's dissuasion, joins a gang and starts a gangster life. When his boss is removed after he is caught swindling the gang's money, Sang-gon becomes the new boss. He dreams of a bright future, but when one of his men gets into trouble, dragging not only them but the whole family's lives into misery, Sang-gon is deeply remorseful. Sang-gon tries to run from his past but depite his struggles, the past catches up on him and he faces a tragic ending.
