Set in the not-too-distant past of 1985, goofball comedian Adam Sandler is Robbie Hart, an aspiring singer-songwriter who pays the bills by playing at wedding banquets. After being abandoned at the altar by his sweetheart (Angela Featherstone - Zero Effect), Robbie becomes extremely jaded to the sacred notion of love and commitment - that is until he meets Julia the waitress (the adorable Barrymore - Never Been Kissed).
